Long Beach Airport
Long Beach Airport is one of Southern California's most operationally diverse airports, blending a busy commercial schedule with one of the highest GA movement rates in the state. The mix of Southwest B737s, Delta E175s, and constant GA training traffic creates a genuinely challenging ATC environment.
Airline operations
Long Beach is dominated by Southwest Airlines, which operates the majority of commercial flights. Delta, American, and Hawaiian also maintain scheduled service. Cargo operations are handled by FedEx, UPS, and Catalina Air.
General aviation
KLGB hosts one of the busiest GA operations in Southern California, with high volumes of Cessna 152/182, Beechcraft, Piper, and Cirrus aircraft throughout the day. Touch-and-go training is common on Runway 16R/34L.
